The data we store includes information about you and the healthcare services you use. This includes things like contact information, the hospitals you visit and the times of your appointments. The data is stored on behalf of healthcare organisations (such as hospitals and GP practices) as part of delivering direct care services to you. We also store the data you enter (such as a new phone number or information about your condition) and information about how you use the Platform (including email, SMS and web interactions).
How we protect your data. All the data we collect about you as an individual is held in private networks with multiple levels of security including industry leading encryption and access controls. Our data centres are accredited to the standards set out by the NHS and GCHQ/CESG for protecting the healthcare information of UK citizens. Your access is controlled using 2-factor authentication or optionally a username and password if you have been given the option to set one up.
Your data may be transmitted outside the EU if you access the platform from a non-EU location. If you enter information into a digital assessment, we will process data outside the EU only where we are satisfied it is protected to an equivalent standard. When this happens data is encrypted and only stored temporarily during processing, after which it is deleted.
What we do with the data. The data is used to provide communications between healthcare provider organisations and their users. We may share information you enter with healthcare providers who are providing you with healthcare services (for example, to update your contact information). We will never share any information specifically about you or relating to your care with anyone else, unless you ask us to. We will use the information we collect to improve our services and to report issues that people have.
What you must do. Please ensure the information provided to healthcare providers (in particular your GP and any hospitals you use) is accurate and up-to-date. This helps us keep your information secure. You should also ensure you take care with your own information – never reveal passwords or usernames to anyone and keep your electronic devices secure.
What you must not do. You must not use this site to interfere with the healthcare services provided to other people.
We're always happy to talk. If you have any questions or concerns, please email support@drdoctor.co.uk and we'll do everything we can to help.
